The best / top — also a booster meaning "super".
Works alone as praise — 짱! — and sticks onto other words as an intensifier: 얼짱 is "best face", 몸짱 is "best body". Slightly older slang now, so it can read a touch retro, which is also why it is everywhere in older K-pop.
Thought to come from 장 (chief/head), reanalysed as a slangy superlative.
Casual. Also mildly dated — younger speakers often reach for 대박 or 최고 instead.
Reading a definition isn't the same as saying it to someone. Lingo Kaiava is a voice tutor set to Korean — it uses 짱 the way locals do, corrects you in the moment, and never "fixes" the way real people actually talk into textbook Korean.
