Your students get the speaking practice you don't have class time for.
Voice-first practice in 28 languages, corrected while they talk — in the browser they already have open.

What it is
Lingo Kaiava is a voice-first language tutor that runs in a web browser, no install. The learner talks out loud — there is no multiple choice and nothing to tap — and Kaiava answers back in the same language at the same speed, corrects what was wrong while the conversation keeps moving, and remembers the mistakes so they come back later for review. It is built for the gap between your classes: the twenty minutes at home when nobody is there to hear the pronunciation or answer the question. Your program buys seats; students sign in and practice; any teacher can try the whole thing free before your department commits to anything.
Three things we can prove today
1. 28 languages, including the ones your students actually need.
Spanish (21 dialect settings — 20 regional plus a neutral), Portuguese (Brazil and European), English, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Vietnamese, French, Arabic, Hindi, Russian, German, Italian and more. 26 of the 28 have our own neural voice on our own servers; Thai and Hebrew fall back to the device's built-in voice.
2. Speaking practice with correction in the moment — not a quiz.
The learner holds a conversation out loud. Corrections arrive inside the conversation, in the target language, and the mistakes are kept for review. This is the part a worksheet cannot do and the part a teacher with 28 students cannot do one-to-one.
3. A free slang dictionary, open to anyone, no login.
Regional slang by country — the words students hear in the hallway and on TikTok and won't
find in the textbook. Free for your students whether or not your program buys anything.

How a class uses it
- A teacher tries it first, free. No card, no purchase order: lingokaiava.com/teachers. Plus access is free for teachers so you can see exactly what a student sees.
- You pick the language and the dialect. Spanish for a heritage-speaker class, English for an ESOL cohort, Japanese for the elective — the dialect setting is per learner, not per school.
- Students practice out loud at home, 10–20 minutes, on the device they already own. No lab booking, no headset requirement, nothing to install.
- They bring the corrections back to class. Kaiava keeps the mistakes it corrected; the student reviews them, and the next class starts from what they actually got wrong.
How seats and codes work
There is no seat checkout button, and we are not going to fake one. A school pays by invoice, we mint one claim code per seat, and your students and teachers redeem them one at a time.
- We invoice your program for the seat count you asked for.
- When the invoice is paid, your seats are issued as codes that look like LK-4KQ2-7XBM — one code per seat. We send the list to whoever manages this at your school.
- Each student or teacher makes a free account, then enters their code at lingokaiava.com/school-code. That account gets full practice from the moment the code is accepted.
- Rather hand us the roster? Do that instead — email it over and we set the accounts up ourselves. For the first cohort we would honestly rather do it by hand than sell you an admin screen that isn't built.
The six questions a department head asks
Do you record my students' voices?
No permanent recording is kept. When a student speaks, the audio is transcribed on our server and the text goes to our AI provider to write the reply. We do not store the raw voice audio. Saved conversations (text) exist so the tutor can remember the thread; a student can delete them in Settings at any time, and an account can be deleted on request. We are not a district system of record and we do not claim FERPA certification — if your office needs a signed data-processing agreement before a pilot, say so on the call and we will put one in front of you rather than pretend we already have it.
Do students need headsets?
No. Any laptop, phone or tablet microphone works. In a shared lab a headset is nicer for everyone's ears, but nothing in the product requires one.
Will it work on Chromebooks and iPads?
Yes — it is a website, not an app. It runs in the browser on Chromebooks, iPads, Windows laptops and phones. Nothing to install and nothing for your IT office to push.
Is there a teacher dashboard?
Not yet, and we won't pretend otherwise. Today each learner has their own account and the teacher has the same free Plus access to see what a student sees. There is no roster view, no gradebook and no per-student progress report. If a dashboard is a hard requirement for your program, tell us on the call what it has to show — we are building the school tier now and that list is the specification.
How long do you keep data, and can we get it deleted?
Conversations are kept until deleted. A student can delete saved conversations in Settings; full account deletion is done on request through hello@kaiava.ai, and we answer those within 30 days. Anonymous practice sessions expire with our daily rate-limit window. Note for K-12 ESOL programs: the product is not directed at children under 13, so a class of under-13 students needs parental consent handled on your side before we would set up seats.
Can we cancel anytime?
Yes. Seats are month to month with no contract term; you email us and we stop billing at the end of the current month. An annual option exists at a discount if your finance office prefers one purchase order a year — that is the only thing that locks a term.
Pricing
| Tier | Who it's for | Seats | Per seat / month | Per seat / year (2 months free) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Classroom | one teacher, one cohort | 20 seats | $26 | $260 |
| Department | a world-language or ESOL department | 100 seats (5 teachers) | $25 | $250 |
| Program | district / multi-campus | 250+ seats, unlimited teachers | $24.50 | $245 |
What a school actually signs for at the smallest tier: 20 × $26 = $520/month ($5,200/year), or 100 × $25 = $2,500/month ($25,000/year) for a department.
Billing runs on our own Stripe (invoice Net 30, or a payment link), never through an app store. No contract term on monthly; annual is the only thing that locks a year.
Talk to us about seats
Email hello@kaiava.ai with your program, the language you teach and roughly how many students. We'll send an invoice and the codes — or take your roster and set the accounts up ourselves. We won't promise you a start date before we've talked.
