To go out partying — or, elsewhere, to make out.
In Colombia *la rumba* is the night out and *rumbear* is doing it — dancing, drinking, staying out. *Salir de rumba* is the standard phrase, and a *rumbeadero* is where you go.
From *rumba*, the music and the party. Colombia turned the party into a verb.
In Venezuela and parts of the Caribbean *rumbear* means to make out. Same word, very different plan for the evening.
Reading a definition isn't the same as saying it to someone. Lingo Kaiava is a voice tutor set to Colombian Spanish — it uses rumbear the way locals do, corrects you in the moment, and never "fixes" the way real people actually talk into textbook Colombian Spanish.
