How cool! — the most Mexican way to say something is great.
The everyday reaction to good news, a nice place, a cool object. Intensifies to ¡qué padrísimo!, which is used constantly. You can also say está padre — "it’s cool" — about almost anything.
Literally "how father". Nobody is sure why padre came to mean excellent, but it is old and completely standard in Mexico.
Mexico-specific. In Spain or Argentina ¡qué padre! will just sound confusing — they would say qué guay or qué copado.
Reading a definition isn't the same as saying it to someone. Lingo Kaiava is a voice tutor set to Mexican Spanish — it uses ¡qué padre! the way locals do, corrects you in the moment, and never "fixes" the way real people actually talk into textbook Mexican Spanish.
