The default Mexican word for approval. Applies to things, plans, and people. "Qué chido" is the reflex response to any good news. There is also "chido" as a farewell, meaning roughly "cool, we're good."
Likely from Asturian/Galician "xido," meaning beautiful or splendid — carried over and reshaped in Mexican slang.
