A nightclub.
Where you go to dance at night. Neutral in Mexico — ir al antro is just going out clubbing, with no seediness implied.
From the Greek for cave, and in older Spanish a dive or den of vice. Mexico cleaned it up into the ordinary word for a club.
In Spain and much of South America antro still means a dump or a dive, so the compliment does not travel.
Reading a definition isn't the same as saying it to someone. Lingo Kaiava is a voice tutor set to Mexican Spanish — it uses antro the way locals do, corrects you in the moment, and never "fixes" the way real people actually talk into textbook Mexican Spanish.
