What does "hueá / weá" mean?

Thing / stuff / nonsense — the word that does everything.

Crude — know it before you say it

How it's actually used

The most flexible word in Chilean Spanish. Any object: *pásame esa weá*. Any situation: *qué weá pasó aquí*. Nonsense: *puras weás*. Chileans can hold a conversation where it is most of the nouns, which is a real joke about the dialect.

Examples

Where it comes from

Contracted from *huevada*, from *huevo*. The same root gives *weón*.

Before you say it

Crude. Fine among friends, not at work or with elders — and it is a big part of why Chilean Spanish has its reputation.

Now actually use it out loud

Reading a definition isn't the same as saying it to someone. Lingo Kaiava is a voice tutor set to Chilean Spanish — it uses hueá / weá the way locals do, corrects you in the moment, and never "fixes" the way real people actually talk into textbook Chilean Spanish.
