A baby.
The normal Chilean word for an infant, used by everyone: *la guagua está durmiendo*. Also used in Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador, all through Quechua.
From Quechua *wawa*, child. The Caribbean word for bus is a completely separate coincidence.
In Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Canary Islands *guagua* means the bus. "I left the guagua at home" means very different things in Santiago and San Juan.
Reading a definition isn't the same as saying it to someone. Lingo Kaiava is a voice tutor set to Chilean Spanish — it uses guagua the way locals do, corrects you in the moment, and never "fixes" the way real people actually talk into textbook Chilean Spanish.
