Loads / really — a Madrid intensifier.
Works on nouns and adjectives: *mazo de gente*, loads of people; *mazo guay*, really cool. Strongly Madrid-flavoured and reads young — Barcelona would reach for *un montón*.
Literally a mallet or a bundle. Madrid youth slang turned it into "a lot".
Regional and young. Outside Madrid it marks you instantly, and in formal speech use *mucho*.
Reading a definition isn't the same as saying it to someone. Lingo Kaiava is a voice tutor set to Spanish (Spain) Spanish — it uses mazo the way locals do, corrects you in the moment, and never "fixes" the way real people actually talk into textbook Spanish (Spain) Spanish.
