The single most Spanish word in daily use. Confirms, agrees, acknowledges, and closes conversations. Doubled ("vale, vale") it can mean "yes yes, I get it" or "enough already." You will hear it constantly.
From "valer" (to be worth) — "it's worth it," compressed into agreement.
Almost exclusively Spain. Saying vale in Mexico marks you as having learned Spanish in Madrid.
Colombia says listo, Mexico says sale or va, Argentina says dale.
