The casual Brazilian thank-you, often with a thumbs up. It also closes a conversation, the way "cheers" does in British English. Quicker and warmer than "obrigado" between friends.
From "valer" (to be worth) — literally "it was worth it."
Too casual for a formal setting — use "obrigado" or "obrigada" there.
