An outing / hanging out / a trip around town.
Any casual outing: a night out, a walk, a drive with no clear destination. "Dar um rolê" means to go out and do something. A "rolê" can be tiny (coffee) or all day.
From the French "rôle" through Brazilian street slang. In Rio the "r" sounds like an English "h".
Very informal. It is also slang for something shady in some regions ("rolê estranho" = a weird scene), so context matters.

Reading a definition isn't the same as saying it to someone. Lingo Kaiava is a voice tutor set to Brazilian Portuguese — it uses rolê the way locals do, corrects you in the moment, and never "fixes" the way real people actually talk into textbook Brazilian Portuguese.
