"Un chin" is a small amount of anything: food, time, money, patience. "Un chin chin" is even less. Completely neutral and used by everyone.
Widely traced to Taíno, the indigenous language of Hispaniola — one of the few such words still in daily use.
Dominican and nowhere else. Elsewhere say "un poquito."
